Live music just MAKES a wedding, don't you think?
WE laugh around here that I'm contractually required to promote the Salado Trio to our bride's and grooms, but in actuality, it's not too tough! They've played for many weddings here (and the price is discounted if the wedding is at Caliber Oak!) and I think every family who has utilized the Trio has been very well satisfied. I see and hear of lots of positive feedback, notes, messages and calls from families and couples who tell Denise that the music was 'amazing' and that

Unveiling of the Official Kite Fest 2018 Colors.of.the.Year!
We know them around here as really cool and festive orange and the teal! We're building a lot around this color theme, but with the two of us crafting, who knows what direction this could take! Looking forward to the event and hopefully, we'll have kite flyers here... Not much going on at the chapel. We need the rain so much, but we ALSO need to get the new steps on the side of the chapel done in time for L&K's wedding......tick.tick.tick........No matter what, even if the

St. Louis School Faculty Invades Chapel. It was GREAT!
What an absolute treat it was to have the faculty team from St. Louis School in Austin at the chapel on Monday for their retreat. Denise and I have had a long relationship with STL and have both been involved in the school in the past...Denise as the former Webminister, and I worked as Development Director a while back. Still dedicated to quality education, faith formation and excellence. We were thrilled that they spent the day with us, and hope they (and other worthy gro

A photo of Cap looking over the Kingdom of Caliber Oak?
Nah. He just forgets that every time he says 'capture' the camera on his phone takes a picture. Even if it's a self-inflicted nostril shot! ...and they let this guy carry a gun? Yikes! All is wonderful and well at the Chapel today! We were so thrilled to be able to host the St. Louis Catholic School faculty retreat today, and saw familiar faces and new ones. It was an excellent day, and a truly well-planned and well-run event for the staff. Enjoyable all the way around

Wedding Homecoming Love is in the air!
The bride is so very much in love with her groom, and he feels the same. Natalie & Lee were the FIRST to RSVP and the FIRST to say...."where are the pictures?" So, Jennifer Simmons made a special arrangement so that we could get one out here today. These two represent what is so very right about falling in love and being married. They didn't worry about the flowers.....the table settings....the decor.... She said to me that, "Captain Rick.....all that matters in my life

Sheer wedding day elegance!
Looking back on the elegant and beautiful wedding day for Shelley and Brad is a true joy. Such lovely people, family and celebration. This table really reflects how special and intimate the day really was. Congratulations, Shelley and Brad, and many years of marital bliss to you! Quiet at the old chapel today, with overcast weather and not much on the schedule...still a little chilly out there, so we're keeping it inside today, and hopefully catching up on some chores. Pr
