Isn't this a warm, celebrational sweetheart table setup? Rustic, abundant and inviting. Beautiful!
Emily and Noah's wedding was beautiful from start to finish, but the decor, food and extra touches were just right. Their rustic elegance theme was just right for the chapel, and everything looked perfect. What a wonderful memory from a great day! Hope YOU are making special and magical memories every chance you get. We've got 3 visits on the calendar for the upcoming week, and will be setting up for the Slice of Heaven Educational Farm games night this week as well. Shou

Hard to imagine that another Lenten Season is almost upon us. Getting the brunch champagne on now!
It's always such a chapel treat to celebrate Fat Tuesday with great friends. Rumor has it, there may be 13 in attendance for this year's festivities. All 4 of these party poodles from the past will be here and even more to boot! Chocolates, wine, champagne, fried evil things, cake, doughnuts.....the sky is the limit, since most of us swear off all that deliciousness for 46 days following the party. There's something to be said for the Lenten tradition. Reflection, self-

There's more than one way to get lucky at THIS chapel! March 6 is a great opportunity for charity!
Well, if you haven't heard about it by now, you're just not paying attention and probably won't do well on your standardized testing (lol!). March 6th is the fun and exciting 'games night' for Slice of Heaven Educational Farm, and we're totally excited. We so appreciate all of our brides and grooms who have their weddings here, since it allows us to keep the lights on and provides the revenue to sponsor such great events. As many of you know, the chapel has never really ma

It's never too early to start planning for a fall wedding! Love us a pile of punkins' and gourds!
I know, I know.........spring isn't even here yet, and I'm pushing the fall motif. Hear me out....I love this look. There are those that say it's too trite for the fall season, but there's a reson for them being there then.... harvest, abundance, and color! I think this little pile here looks amazing, and I love the way God makes the cool, unique shapes and colors all come together. I'm also a huge fan of acorn squash for supper with brown sugar and butter, but just have

This photograph from 2020 came up on my feed today and I think it speaks Hope to me. Hope is best!
We have been influenced by so many thoughts, words and deeds at our beloved chapel in the past 11 years, that the photo featured makes sense. The word that came to mind was hope. Our good friend and partner in multiple bridal crimes, Terri Cousins used this word very emphatically a couple of weeks ago during a bible study discussion, and it has resonated with me. Since I have paid attention to the word, I realize how much it means to all of us. When a couple is joined, offi

Did Mrs. Boss snag a coolio photo of the bride's room cabinet reflection here or what?!!? Niiice!
I was talking on the phone with Bryan Rugh as we solved yet another one of life's problems, when the boss picked up her phone and started taking photos past my left shoulder. I thought maybe it was wildlife outside the window, or something unusual, and I was kind of right. She just so happened to be sitting in the hallway where she could see the almost full reflection of the bride's room stained glass window. It's shots like this that remind us what a special place we've

Sometimes brides visit when it has absolutely nothing to do with a wedding! Sometimes it's VEGGIES!
You know you're geriatric when you get really, really excited about the veg for your garden, but there you go. We were so excited to see Raeshel here at Caliber Oak this week, who has beautiful bedding plants for sale (support your sister brides, girls) and some of the tomato stems at this young age make it look like a couple of these plants will grow into trees! R&D (they share our initials) have a spot in the country, and she's recently left being an on-site NP to pursu

Sometimes, the bride and groom's futures are SO bright, they literally have to wear shades! :)
S&D's day was so tremendous, they really did deserve this star-power treatment! It's so fun going down memory lane in my photo files and coming up with gems like this that make me smile! Hello, chapel-lovers! Hope everyone is doing great today! The chapel got a nice little 'lift' this weekend with Chloe and Mrs. Boss working on the front bedding areas for garden soil, while I enjoyed a visit with Megan and Will to discuss decor. Loving Megan's take on tall brass candlesti

One of our favorite shots from the chapel entry gate...This angel never stops praying for all of us!
Prayers are wonderful things, and we love giving and getting them every chance we get. We're pretty excited about meeting Rebecca and Austin tomorrow, since we had a rediculously fun and rowdy 47 minute phone introduction last night! Also, many thanks to Branch Skeeter for letting them know about our very special chapel! A bit chilly out there for chapel activities today, but as I mentioned on my personal blog, the temp on monday is supposed to be 81 degrees, so it's danged

We've said this before, but wouldn't a tropical-themed wedding be a really fun wedding backdrop?
I think the colors and the feels of the tropics could be so much fun. Fern-ish fronds, palm leaves, beautiful tropical flowers, either fresh, silk or paper..... Just a creative touch. We're already working on our own personal Easter plans, so our creative juices are flowing...... How are you, today, chapel fan? Hope your day is wonderfully smooth....just like the beautiful roadwork that Tony did for the chapel driveway yesterday! So nice to have it working so well, and
