...........And now for a little pre-marital parading! A couple who parades together end up married!
This fun and far out shot was from the last FULL and somewhat normal SirenaFest Parade. Sarah was dressed as a mermaid and rode on the back of the Eldorado. Otto drove Hydrangea with Mrs. Boss and we all looked so ding-danged "Under The Sea"! I love photos like this that involve our chapel lovelys before and after their wedding vows! Such fun. Speaking of such fun...The date for the "Strogan-OFF" (Our stroganoff cook off competition) has been set at the chapel. 3 entries

One of the best photos of one of the best days of the year! The American flag even is featured!
I hadn't seen this shot before. Jolene sent it as part of a text since it came up on her memory board for the day, and she sent it to me. This day is what life is all about. John being responsible, having fun, and supporting everyone on Sarah and Otto's biggest day. MRs. Boss having 784 kinds of fun with her favorite brew. Jolene anchoring the excitement with possibly stolen jewelry, and our tremendous bride-girl, rocking the Botanical Jane head-dress, and truly enjoying

Natalie took this photo at wedding homecoming and said, "I finally have a good picture of you, Cap!"
...Makes you kind of wonder how many BAD pictures she has of me, right? I will have to admit I've looked worse in photos in the last few years, so at least this one doesn't have as much cryptkeeper going on. Still basking in the glow of one of the best Wedding Homecomings ever. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, and I know we did. We're already looking forward to next year. Hope your friday is unfolding nicely, with no tears or blemishes on the page. We're looki

I think the title of this photo should be "You're Standing on My Dress", due to close quarters!
As is tradition with every Caliber Oak Wedding Homecoming celebration, the cake topper count must equate to the number of guests who have RSVP'd for that year.... Well, here they are, all joined together in marital celebration. When I typed "You're standing on my dress", my mind immediately went to the wedding of one of our dearest friends in 1985... Not only was the officiant loaded, but called the bride the wrong name throughout the ceremony (if you know this particular

The Stars at Night are Big and Bright................you know where! Thats a lot of stars indoors!
One of the neatest parts of Wedding Homcoming is the friendships that are built. This part of our approach I know cannot possibly be replicated anywhere else....I see folks visiting in photos who would never, ever have met in their walks of life (or highly unlikely) except for this event. The attorney and nurse talking to the firefighter - and it's not about a fire! So many fun unions and connections and they're all so very flattering towards us and what we've attempted to

Pretty blurry, but the "Cupid Shuffle" is one of those wedding elements that will always escape me!
It's inevitable, virtually every single wedding we've ever had includes the "Cupid Shuffle" at some point during the festivities. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a cute, snappy little tune that clearly hasn't completely gone out of vogue, but I don't know how to do it. Never learned, wasn't interested. One of the fun things, however, is that from the beginning of our relationships with special brides and grooms, we've had our staff join in this song as a tradition. N

One of the last dances of the night, and Wedding Homecoming '22 was in the books. Really Great!
Griselda worked a bazillion hours on Saturday but STILL managed to make it to wedding homecoming with Greg. They got here late, but were able to enjoy the tail end of the festivities, do a little dancing, have a drink, etc. Such an excellent party and it made such a difference to have them be able to come. She worked a tremendous amount this weekend, but that's where the new pool at the new house will come from! Wooohoo! I can taste the pina coladas already...... Elena

WHOOPS, we did it again! And are SO fully thankful. Wedding Homecoming '22 was AMAZING for sure!
I'm so excited that even Vance with the Dance is in this year's picture! Clearly we had a fun loving crowd, and certainly missed those who said they were coming and didn't. (really, brides? After my RSVP lectures for YOUR wedding? :)) No matter, it was tremendous. Gifts were given for the longest travelled, longest married at the chapel and newest marrieds from the chapel. So many great connections were made. Vance did a bang-up job of playing each couple's song and

Tonight, Tonight. The world is full of light, with suns and moons all over the place!
Who doesn't love a little original West Side Story reference on one of the biggest chapel days of the year! We're all set for another wonderful Wedding Homecoming, and cannot wait for he fun to start! 58 of our charges are expected, and we know there'll be great photos, memories and laughter shared all evening. Final touches of name tags, sign in, gift placement, song requests, etc...all coming together so nicely. I don't think Mrs. Boss has determined which outfit she's

This halo of happiness means that Wedding Homecoming must be coming this weekend! We cannot wait!
I actually have to laugh, though, since when I see this image it reminds me of when I was in the school play in 1968 as an angel with silver tinsel wrapped around a coat hanger. Interesting. Stage props. Now I have my own halo. lol. We really are excited to see our matrimonial charges return to the nest this weekend, and are so thrilled that some who were not expected can actually make it! Carol at The Pizza Place has the food under control, and Mrs. Boss is dealing
