When brides and grooms invite you over to their house for a Christmas party...you can't go empty handed. How about this outstanding Christmas cranberry orange bread nestled in berries !
Festive AND delicious. It was a great excuse to use this crazy expensive pan I got from Williams-Sonoma or King Arthur that rarely gets hot. The event at John and Jolene's was wonderful and everything tasted great....esp the potato chips, which I dont eat at home! All is wonderful at the chapel. The large, red ornaments on near the front porch will get about 2 more days of display before the holiday is over, and things look pretty green and bright for this time of year,

This is the fun part of having special brides and grooms in your life! We get to see them grow up, change and succeed! Getting to go to "The Nutcracker" certainly is succeeding in our book! Fun!
John took Ciaran to The Nutcracker not too long ago, and I'm sure it was amazing. What a cool kid that she wanted to go to the ballet, and what a cool dad-guy for taking her. The boots look polished, she looks great and he looks armed, so I guess they're ready to go! It's so fun having our couples share their milestones - large or small! Busy day at the chapel today, preparing for the Knights of Columbus Christmas party. We're completely on track, but that'll involve 2

What a fun photo from our bible study group! Obviously a happy group, and what other bible study would have a rifle involved?!?!? We were so glad that Tim and Tammy could join us. Is Bert Santa?
I've never thought about how much Bert and Santa look alike. I mean....think about it....you've never seen them both in the same room at the same time, right? lol! It was a great bible study, and we haven't posted a photo in quite a while. Even the new rescue dog, Dobby, got into the mix. She's not even trying to steal food in this shot! All is wonderful at the chapel. Tim and Clemente have replaced all the trim boards on the eaves since we had some shrinkage, aging and

This is what happens when you let Cap loose with a round sponge brush and some craft paints. It's currently the top of the curio cabinet in the bride's room. Kinda cool, we think? Def craft vibe!
Actually, it's not too bad and if you look at it in the right angle, it kind of has a Van Gough vibe to it! It's more exciting than a plain paint job, and what the heck....it was fun! Hope y'all like it! Quiet at the chapel today, but Miss Denise is going to tidy up some areas. We've got a visit scheduled with Lindsey tomorrow, and we're looking forward to that. The sun is shining and the place looks good. Our next videotaping for Coffee with Cap is coming up, and we're

Rollin' around town lookin' fly! Our magnetic signs are back on the side of the truck, and they look pretty good. We'll leave them there until carwash time, and then switch them out! Great colors!
We don't know if people even notice them, but we feel so official and cool with them on the doors. They look good on all of our cars, and are so easy to move. Jason Smith, our friend and lawdawg from Pflugerville said that we shouldn't leave them on permanently, since they mess up the paint and lose their magnetic properties. They were on the side of the frigidaire and we decided to put them to use for a while. At least you'll know who it is if we roll past you. No acti

Now THAT is a pile of scones! I can't remember what flavor these are, but I think they may be date-cinnamon. Cap's been cooking up the scones for days for the annual tea coming up for Miss D!
They really are good with tea or coffee and pretty traditional. Not overly sweet, for the most part, they taste great with a cuppa and make hot beverages truly a relaxing treat and ceremony. Long live the English scone, even though we put our own, American twist on the comestibles. All is in order for the tea party. Silver polished, hot water urn filled, berry bowls out, sammich ingredients at the ready, champagne cooling and great guys all lined up to make the event anoth

The table switch-out is complete, and the custom painted cabinet is looking pretty fly in the bride's room! This was at the main house and we switched it out for the radio table, and it works great!
Lots going on around the chapel this week, including the install of the cabinet in the bride's room! We got to meet up with Casey and Nathan who are planning their wedding and came for a visit, and did some fun videotaping on the night before to include a teaser that's already dropped and another mini shot for the "Coffee with Cap" series. Not only all of that, Cap is heading down to the chapel pretty soon after finishing this blog entry to set up the coffee urn for the big

Nothing like giant mushrooms to say, "let's have a good time"! It was all a part of the Alice and Wonderland theme, and it added to the excitement, and the colors were really neat! Psychedelic, yo!
A couple of these fungi are still up and out on the drive up to the chapel from the road. All of the mylar balloons were tremendously...

Another fun element of the Alice in Wonderland event.... Water bottles with special labels that tie into the theme! Super fun, and the attention to detail makes the fun even more vivid! Yo, Alice!
We really loved having the group together for a great cause. $3,700 was worth the effort for a fun time to benefit the library. Thanks...

You know it's a good charity event when the guests dress up for the fun! Alice in Wonderland is CLEARLY a place this audience group has visited before! Loved the enthusiasm and the $3,700 raised!
The chapel got used for another great charity event for the Friends of the Salado Public Library and raised $3,700 for the cause. The...
