And a SPIKY howdy-do to you today! :)
This is very colorful and happy face that's greeting folks on the front porch of the chapel these days. Ok, maybe not warm and fuzzy (ouch) but certainly a beautiful and radiant look for all to see. A very thoughtful gift from Missy Angel on Easter Sunday, the plant has continued to thrive, despite being knocked over by the wind about a dozen times, and getting too much water from all the rain, etc. The bloom is not only succeeding, but EXceeding by producing new 'flower-e

Really, Cap?!? Another flower picture!?!?
Ok, ok....I know I'm the king of loving the flowers out here, but just can't get enough of the springtime beauty that's surrounding the chapel. This lantana variety is just about my favorite thing. Love the way the pink and yellow are part of the same plant, and the whole thing has kind of a carnival feel to it. So glad they're doing well, and the rain and sunshine really makes the difference! Got to plant some more sunflower seeds today, did some chapel linens, tidied up

Sometimes, the best ways are the simplest!
We just love the simplicity and sincerity of this directional sign from Laura & Carson's wedding! The urns are fairly new, and really set off the chalk sign so nicely. What a special day with such PERFECT weather....we can't thank God enough for that magical weather display! Love having the roses in bloom, and everything seems so very green and lush. We're supposed to get some more wonderful rain in the next few days, and we'll have an excellent wedding for Rachel & Jason

Clearly THE hottest ticket in town this weekend!
Congratulations to our very own Laura and Carson! The biggest of days on Saturday was outstanding, and went off without a hitch! So much family, so much fun and lots and lots of laughter. The weather could not have been more perfect, after so many days of rain. The food was out of this world, and everyone truly seemed to have an excellent time. The family recipe for the rolls was unspeakably excellent, and we even enjoyed one at brunch today. We were blessed to meet som

Treasures to add to the coolest collection around!
It's always a treat to find just the right additions to the vintage dinner plate collection at the chapel. So fun to think of how many thousands of folks have enjoyed seeing these vintage treasures on the table...sometimes empty and sometimes filled with incredible delights from caterers from all over. These two beauties are the newest cousins to those already on the shelves, and will most likely get added to the one.of.a.kind look that Laura is creating for her wedding tha

The Pink-ness of it all is intoxicating!
This has got to be one of the most beautiful times of the year! It seems nearly everything is in bloom, and the nourishing rains just continue. Getting the grass cut is another matter, however, but never an issue since everything always works out wonderfully! Lots getting done today with some new tables on the way, and some setup work for this weekend's grand adventure, and the wedding this weekend is supposed to be a NO RAIN day! Woohoo! We'll say our prayers and see what

The happiness of this couple truly shines!
Rena took another great one here. We don't think it's been on the blog before, so we had to share it. The happiness these two shared the day of their wedding will be remembered for a long time. Love the smiles. They left us with a 'photo coaster' that Jordan's mom made about a million of for the wedding (they're soooo cool!) that's near the coffee maker in the chapel. Smart kids. Every single time I look at their smiling faces on this coaster (while I'm making coffee, ri

Wow! Spring is in bloom at the chapel!
Today's post marks a change in our direction! Our web-guru, Jordan Overturf, is working on making us more accessible and present, so we're on the NEW Caliber Oak page that he's gotten all fixed up. The fact that it's his birthday has nothing to do with it (Happy Birthday, Deputy Overturf!) since he had already done his primary work before then. He's given me a laundry list of things to do, but be advised.......this is where the chapel blog posts will live until told otherw

Is this a chapel or a wildlife refuge?
Our happy cardinal friend here made a day of visiting himself in the rear view mirror of the MGB at the chapel today. Except for the unfortunate 'dumpings' of our guest (now I know why the Fleetwood looked like that last week!) he was a delight for all to see, and truly spent the entire day just about right there. There were moments that he was on the steering wheel, but otherwise, this was his locale for the day. I can't blame him. I spent most of the day here myself,

That's a view, ladies & gentlemen! Praise God!
This picture is amazing to me, and it really captures the spirit and the feel of our beloved chapel. The colors, the coziness, and setting....it's all here, and all so very beautiful. Especially at this time of year. Snapped this one just before we headed to Dallas for Mel's shower, and it really looks great! Thank you, God, for all the beautiful flowers that are in bloom. Truly wonderful! Back in the blogging saddle after a VERY sickly last 24 hours! Had a bout of stom
