Chapel Blog | Our weddings, events and news

A honeymoon is important! Anything from sleeping in the bed of a truck @ a campground all the way to strutting around Europe after your vows have been said.... A little bit of a reset is great!

While we are seasoned air travellers, we hardly do it anymore. That's ok, since we've been married 38 years next month, and whereever we are together is a fun adventure! We were married in a more traditional time when you planned and saved for a honeymoon. Our original tickets said arriving in London and departing from Paris with a week in each beautiful city. Unfortunately, just days before our wedding, terrorists bombed the main police station in Paris and the city was an anthill of scurrying and fear. Nevertheless, we re-routed to Nassau in the Bahamas, since it was about the only change we were able to make at the time with such short notice. (This was during the years of travel agents, and you did'nt generally book anything out of country on your own!) It was a magical honeymoon, and while it was far from luxe at the time, it's a great memory. The trip we took was much more in keeping with who we are and were. The blessing is that we've spent quite a bit of time in Paris and London and lots of other far-away locations over the years. With all that said...we both feel like a respite from wedding craziness is a great chance (even in the back of the pickup) for couples to re-set, organize and take a breather while learning more about each other. That's our 2 cents, but you now have it! :)

Prepping for another wedding celebration today, and we're getting amped up already. Going to be beautiful and the couple is 'hand picked' by God and just right for the chapel. We're not surprised. Blessings to one and all, and hope you have a magical day!
