Chapel Blog | Our weddings, events and news

Ok, this was the first time Cap officially painted anything that's going to hang on the wall. Overall, it turned out great, we think!

The whole thing started out pretty cool. We loved the quote, and Jolene found it on the net. She and Ciaran put it on the frame and backboard and Cap took the leap of faith to paint his first 'picture' for the wall, ever. The flowers aren't perfect, but that's kind of the point. Certainly, it's got some cool elements, and we think it'll look great up on the wall in the bride's room over the mirrored medicine cabinet from New Orleans. We'll see what the next project will be, but the fun experience of playing with watercolors is really a thing!

Got two very pretty marigolds for the front of the chapel at the hardware store today. It's a little late in the season to be messing with it, but last night during prayer time, Cap was thinking about marigolds and how much we haven't used them in landscaping in a while. (The mind wanders during prayer time!). They look great, and it'll be fun if we end up with some little seedlings this spring. Otherwise, we'll have to remember to plant some marigolds next spring. We love the color, durability and especially the smell of the flower pads that are used up on our skin. It's a cool odor that provides some great flashbacks to when we were first married and had our first house together and had them in the flower beds in front of the house! Super cool. Love the way they come up volunteer, too!

Hope everyone's week is rolling along very nicely. We've got special people we're praying for, and continue to do so. Do something fun, do something meaningful, and be sure to bring a bit of creativity into your life! Later, chapel fans!
