Another Successful Charity Event at the Chapel

Happy Monday.
The Magnolias and Malarkey event yesterday at the Chapel was a success. The Friends of the Salado Public Library raised $2800. We had 50+ in attendance. It sure was a fun afternoon filled with laughter. The southern author’s theme (Mark Twain, Margaret Mitchell and O. Henry) with a twist of satire made the performance very lighthearted. Just want to thank again all who volunteered their time, efforts and creativity to make this happen (actors, actresses, light/sounds, sets, publicity etc.) and all who attended. This was the 5th performance for FOSPL. Who knows what next year will bring – stay tuned.
For me, it filled my heart with warmth to have so many people at the Chapel and to have another successful charity event. I love the weddings and other paid events, but giving back is also SO important. Rick and I have always been such big proponents on supporting such good causes and God blessed us with this Chapel to open it up for events like the Sunday event. I plan to have many more in the future. Actually there are 2 scheduled that soon will be out on the events page of the Chapel and 2 more are in the works on the charity side in setting dates etc. I’m looking forward to the next 3 weekends of events at the Chapel. October is definitely a full month. I am so thankful. For this upcoming weekend I don’t have to do a lot of set up since it is very similar to yesterday’s event (no complaints here). Love it though, when I do have set up that is more labor intensive, there are a number of the Chapel family that are willing to come help me. Speaking of that, please reach out to me if you would like to be on the list for working weddings in the future. I already have a nice list, but sometimes everyone has commitments so then I need to find others. I sure would like a few more people.
I continue to get some inquiries, but so far, no new bookings. All that means is God has not sent just the right couples/families to me to be part of our special Chapel at Caliber Oak family.
My last thing for today as I have been thinking about Rick’s “caps.inspiration”. Since I am doing many things to keep his spirit alive, what I am proposing is to continue the link, but with a twist. Rick wrote to inspire us, what I would like to do is once a week put a post out there from someone who Rick inspired something in your life. All I would need is a write up sent to me in email (denisecaliber@gmail.com) and if you want to send a photo you can too. So until next time “make memories”
