Chapel Family get togethers and help

It was so wonderful to see 2 of the Chapel families this week. I had dinner at Chad and Hettie's. Met 2 of their friends as well. Always a wonderful visit and delicious food. Had some of the tasty potato soup with a kick that I have had before.
Jolene came over to help me with a couple of projects and I'll post one of the pics on my personal page. We have more to do, but no rush. I was thrilled to get 2 more projects done.
We then enjoyed a dinner out with John. Just love the Chapel family. I'm so thankful to have y'all as I have found I am fine to have some time at home to get things done, but I also need to get together with others. Kind of funny - I was telling Jolene that this week has been the hardest week (not long grieving moments, but had multiple) since Rick's passing and she said she felt the same way. I'm thankful that the moments are not long and I know how important it is to grieve.
Speaking of that, yesterday I ran into Rita Rice from town. Always such a class act and such a sweet person. This is the first we have seen each other since Rick passed. She reiterated just what I said about our town of Salado and how it is another family and how much compassion she got from town after her husband passed away 17 years ago. She is having to move to Georgetown and it has been very emotional for her. We gave each other big hugs and said we will keep in touch on FB. Salado is a very special town. Even with us growing it still has that small town feel. I'm so thankful we ended up here back in 1990.
I know many of you have already seen my post on my FB feed, but if not definitely want to reiterate the post. Rick had so many ties and t-shirts so thanks to a brilliant idea from Erin Young I had 4 quilts made. I'm in the process of working with the 4 charities on the approach to get bids. I'm going to designate a quilt for each charity and then all proceeds will go back to them. Rick has always been a big proponent on legacy giving and I have always been there too. Love that I get to put it into action.
I had the Chapel set up for a small gathering today that was supposed to happen, but because of some other snags the family had to cancel. I do have another event next Saturday that is small and not much set up. I'm looking forward to helping make that event extra special. You'll hear more about that after it happens.
I need to close so until next time "make memories"
