Chapel Blog | Our weddings, events and news

Love the addition of the new Bavarian china for our events! Thank you for the donation, Terry, and many thanks to Connie & Keith for set #2! There more china going on than in the mainland!

It's always such a thrill when folks gift the chapel with family heirlooms of the porcelain kind! This pattern is very pleasant, and the whole set has kind of a Southwestern pottery feel. It could be from as early as 1937 or as late as about 1955, but it's impossible to tell, since the pattern name isn't indicated. The lovely win/win about these china sets is that so many are from families that have tremendous chapel memories, and then their family's antique china is used for hundreds of other weddings in years to come. So many times, the bride's age peers don't collect china, and it works great here! Pretty danged cool, right? Again, thank you, Terry! We'll be featuring a beautiful Noritake set provided by Keith and Connie in the near future. Their Sheila donation is incredible and many brides and guests will enjoy that in years to come.

Clemente is down at the chapel trimming roses and last year's plant growth for the spring wedding season. The weather is already rewarding the chapel with nice growth on several things. I saw 2026 growth on a rambling rose today that I just couldn't believe! The best part of living in God's world is being stunned and suprised every singe year by the beauty, renewal and rebirth! Thank you, God! Hope to see you soon. We're gearing up for the April 18th "Our Hospice" fashion show fundraiser, so that's a great thing! Meeting with that time tomorrow.
