Our favorite rose at the chapel...
Our beautiful antique, pink roses aren't quite as showy this year....we think they're rather confused on the weather, but showing promise for some lovely fall color. This is one of our absolute favorite roses, and it's at the main house and here at the chapel. Lovely, abundant and sometimes, even a little fragrant. Always makes our hearts sing to see them in bloom! Wonderful day at the chapel. Kind of has a Napa Valley feel to the air today, as the major heat source seems

Colorful and yummy enough for an intimate wedding party...
While yesterday's repast wasn't actually a wedding, there WERE married people here! It's always fun to see what gets served and think about how neat some of the alternatives would be to more standard wedding fare. Maybe a cheese board, crudite selection and artisan breads, kind of all plattered out together as they mix and mingle.... Just a thought, and a pretty one at that! Rehearsed for "Scenes From Four Friends", got to talk politics, weather and the like. Such a fun v

What a neat shot! A party is about to go down here!
Love the vintage dishes, love the lighting and love the focus on our special couple. This is a look that frequently begins the happiest party of our bride and groom lives at this point. Awesome, and we're so thankful that couples trust us to make their day so very special! Outstanding steel cut oats this morning after a beautiful massage by none other than Linda Egg! She's the bomb, y'all, and if you never need to be 'fixed'...not like a shelter dog, I mean muscularly!....

Love this magical photo!
We don't think this one ever got posted back when this wonderful wedding happened. Love the freshness, happiness and hope in their faces, and so enjoyed having their biggest of days here. Recently, Jordan Overturf of Overturf Wedding Photography, took one of the photos from Melinda and Tremaine's wedding and caused it to 'move' with a new photo program! Very Harry Potter meets Chapel! Congratulations, again, Melinda and Tremaine, and so looking forward to having you come

What does this say about a bride?
I love the Donna Reed effect here. Mis-matched vintage reproduction tea towels that can be utilized to make a luncheon fun-cheon. Vintage warmth and pattern are our forte', so this look is right up our alley.... Maybe used in the buffet portion of a vintage tableau, or even used around the cake table, bar, for napkins, almost everywhere! It's certainly not EVERY bride's look, but we find that a bride that understands this concept is someone who pretty much gets us. Whic

Stagecoach Inn, Anyone?
I don't think we've posted this photo yet, but when you go on vacation, you kind of forget stuff. Another outstanding evening with Team Steglich, but this one had a twist! We headed off to the newly refurbished, famous Stagecoach Inn for a tremendous dinner hosted by the aforementioned amazing Griselda and Greg. Outstanding meal, fun opportunity to use the Fleetwood (although she's going in for A/C service since the next morning....not so much) got to see Lisa Hagood, and

Who could resist THIS happy face?!?!?
The vine is happy and all around us shines. These cooler temperatures have certainly been a blessing. Worked on the chapel kitchen floor today.......only one more coat of polyurethane to go! Wooohoo! All is wonderful underfoot and above. The spa has a new filter, and the Mr. Clean white 'miracle' sponges Angie has provided have really kept the sides neat and clean. Maybe I spent an hour in the hot tub today reading Anthony Doerr, or maybe I didn't. Guess we'll never kn

Studying all that Victor Vasarely in college really paid off! :)
Well, to be honest, I didn't set out to create a masterpiece, but I certainly have! The floor in the chapel kitchen got kinda worn, which was sort of the plan, but the worn looked kind of dingy, and......well......it was time to freshen the paint. Ace Hardware provided the standard yellow quart and blue quart....slightly darker shades, maybe they'd hide the dirt better, etc. Welllllllllll. Then the Cap gets the idea that he really liked the way the 'glaze' product worked
